In today’s blog post, you will discover 5 ways to boost your energy so that you don’t have to spend another day feeling sluggish and uninspired on this journey.

I struggled with my energy levels for years and have found so many things that have helped me in my personal journey.

These tips I’ve learned along the way, will have you feeling invigorated again in no time!

1. Take a break and breathe

Take a breather. The energy you are lacking could be because you are simply overworked and stressed out from the day-to-day things that you have to do. In this case, it might be helpful to take a breather, leave the office a bit earlier, and do something relaxing before you go to bed.

Revisit DAY 2 of our Challenge where we talked about getting quality sleep and rest.

There are tons of ways that you can reduce stress and boost your energy levels, but one of the best ways is simply to breathe. Take a few minutes to sit in silence in a quiet room and focus on your breathing. Do this for a few days and you will notice that you are able to manage your stress and energy levels better. It seems too simple but I promise you will be amazed at how effective deep breathing really is!

Breathing Technique 4-7-8 Breathing

This is one of the most commonly known breathing techniques for increasing energy. It’s easy to practice and can be done anywhere, anytime (as long as you’re sitting or lying down).

As a quick and effective way to regain energy, follow these steps: Find a quiet place and sit comfortably with your back straight (or lie flat with your feet on the floor). Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths (about 4) to center yourself and focus your breathing. Now, inhale deeply through your nose and hold your breath for the count of 7. Hold it for a few seconds longer if it feels comfortable and release the breath slowly through your mouth while counting to 8.

2. Move your body and get some sunlight

Exercising is a great way to boost your energy levels. Not only does it release endorphins that make you feel good, but it also helps to boost your metabolism, improves your immune system and increases your energy levels.

One of the best ways to boost your energy is by getting some sunlight. Studies have shown that people who get at least 30 minutes of sunlight every day have higher energy levels than those who don’t get enough sunlight.

If getting sunlight is challenging, vitamin D3 with K2 could really help. Using this supplement from Amazon has seriously changed my life! Check with your doctor before using any supplements.

3. Eat healthy food will give you energy

Eating healthy whole foods is important for just about every aspect of your life, and that includes your energy levels. If you’re eating junk food all the time, it will be reflected in your energy levels.

When my husband and I were trying to get through the pandemic we ate so much junk food. It completely tanked my energy levels! I learned very quickly that if I wasn’t eating right, I wasn’t going to have enough energy.

Eating healthy whole foods may not be enough for some. You may want to experiment with what foods feel best for you. You can do this by paying close attention to how you feel after each meal. If you’re feeling really sluggish, maybe you could experiment with eating more protein or less carbs and sugar.

Drinking enough water is also crucial to keep your energy levels up. I know some of these seem to simple and pretty basic, but I’ve been surprised at how little energy I’ve had when I haven’t had enough water for the day!

4. Don’t forget to Celebrate!

Another way that can boost your energy levels is by celebrating your accomplishments. It is easy to get caught up in the day-to-day monotony of life and lose sight of how much you have actually done.

What better way to boost your energy levels than to take a step back and recognize the things that you have done well. You can even go as far as to recognize these things in front of your friends and family. This will not only boost your energy levels, but it will also boost your confidence.

5. Use Magic Mushrooms

Not those magic mushrooms…….. lol… The Adaptogenic kind! Adaptogen mushrooms give me lightning bolts of energy! I just add a bit of my favorite kind to my coffee and feel amazing for the rest of the day. You could put it in whatever drink you’d like.

The word “adaptogen” refers to a group of plant-based compounds that can help you balance your body, increase your health and skyrocket your energy levels. The most common examples of adaptogenic mushrooms are cordyceps, reishi, chaga, shiitake, and turkey tail. While these mushrooms have many similarities, they each have their own unique set of health benefits.

Could Low energy be something else?

If it seems like you’ve tried everything else; you get plenty of sleep, manage your stress, spend time breathing and relaxing, eat healthy, get good movement throughout your day and enough whole healthy foods and enough water – and are still feeling tired…

There could be something else happening. If you’ve already spoken with your conventional doctor and haven’t found answers, I would encourage you to find a local integrative, functional or holistic doctor to speak with. They will do more blood work and testing than a regular/conventional doctor, so you can find the root of your low energy.

There are many different medical reasons for low energy; having an issue with your thyroid, imbalanced hormones, mold toxicity or food allergens, are just a few examples.

When I struggled with my energy levels the most in 2015, this website helped me find my very first integrative/functional doctor and my life has not been the same since. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I learned that some simple naturopathic medicines, balancing my hormones and changing my diet to a grain free, sugar free way of eating gave me back my entire life… and my energy!

Be in tune with YOU

We are all different. Some things that work for my energy levels, will not work for yours. Be intentional in keeping track of the things that make you feel good or not good each day.

Boosting your energy levels doesn’t have to be difficult. All it could take is a few changes to your daily routine and sticking with it. If you follow the tips in this article, you will notice a huge improvement in your overall energy levels and how you feel throughout your day. If you don’t, I hope you’ll consider reaching out to an integrative doctor.
