Being a Creative Entrepreneur can mean living with uncertainty.

There will be days when you don’t know how to proceed with a project, or how a business idea will pan out. And other days when you’ll discover you need to make videos to get your message out but you’re just terrified.

You will face moments of self-doubt, perfectionism and fear of failure. These are all things you can’t avoid as a creative entrepreneur; what you can control is your response to these challenges.

It’s about opening yourself up to possibilities that may appear scary at first but could potentially lead to something really great.

Below are 5 ways to reignite your creative life and business, despite your fear;

1. Set a goal and stick to it

Take time to decide what your goal is. Knowing your goals will help push you towards the life you want to live, despite the fear.

Do you want to become an entrepreneur and have a creative business? What is the end outcome that you’re hoping to achieve?

Whatever your motivation, it should be something that excites you and gives you joy. Ask yourself why you want to become a Creative Entrepreneur. What do you want to achieve?

Take all of your goals and put them on your vision board, write them in your journal, create a plan and add the steps to your planner.

Defining your motivation will help you to stay focused and charged up when things get too tough, and you feel like you want to quit.

2. Define your comfort zone

We all have a comfort zone. The things we know we’re good at and feel confident doing.

When we’re inside our comfort zone, we feel safe, but we’re also not growing as much.

How can you push yourself to get outside of your comfort zone?

Embrace the fact that you are running a business, which means you have to take risks and try things that might scare you.

Experiment with new ideas, new marketing tactics, and new ways of growing your business that might make you uncomfortable. This is the only way you’re ever going to grow as a business owner and discover what works best for you.

If you’re always in your comfort zone, you’ll never learn anything new or grow as a person.

Be careful not to take this too far, though. You don’t want to put yourself in situations that are too dangerous or risky. This will only hurt your business in the long run.

Instead, find ways to challenge yourself that are doable and safe, but that still make you uncomfortable. As you push yourself and grow as a person, you’ll find that your creative business grows along with you.

3. Take action and don’t be paralyzed by fear

Fear is a normal human emotion, but it can hold you back from taking the steps you need to take in life and business if you let it.

You can’t let fear paralyze you and hold you back from making the decisions you need to make to succeed.

The trick is to put your fear into perspective.

If you’re afraid of public speaking, you may need to practice more with your local Toastmasters group.

If you’re afraid of not making any money, you need to look at your numbers to see if you’re charging enough for your services.

If you’re afraid of your competition, remember that there’s always room for more than one business in a market.

If you’re afraid of the economic climate, remember that the economy is cyclical and that the best time to start a business is when others are too scared to do so.

And if you’re afraid of what your friends and family will think about your new business venture, remember that you don’t have to tell anyone about it until you’re ready!

4. Take small steps and build on them

As scary as it is, we have to take a risk in order to get to where we want to be.

You can’t expect everything to fall into place right away. It’s a process, and it takes time.

The key is to keep taking small steps towards your goal.

As you progress, you will learn what works and what doesn’t.

You will make mistakes, but you will also gain valuable experience that will help you to take the next step.

Sometimes you just have to do it afraid

One of the best ways to overcome your fears is to do something you’re afraid of, even if it’s a small thing.

You might be afraid of reaching out to potential clients and asking for work, or maybe you’re afraid of speaking in videos on TikTok.

No matter what it is, go ahead and do it anyway, despite how scared you are.

You’ll feel so much better once you get it out of the way, and you’ll feel more empowered moving forward with your business.

These are small things that may not seem like much, but they’re things you have control over and can do right now.

If you’re too scared to do those things, then you need to take a step back and figure out what’s holding you back.

You might be making excuses or having unrealistic expectations of yourself. You might also be dealing with some underlying fears or issues that you need to address before moving forward. You can overcome your fears, but you have to take action and make it happen.

You can do this!

There are many different ways to move forward in your creative life and business, despite the fear you may have.

But whatever risks you take as a Creative Entrepreneur, they should always be in pursuit of something that excites you, lights your soul on fire and gives you joy.

Doing “the thing” will be hard, but it will also be SO worth it!
