If you’re a highly creative Artist, Musician, Maker, Writer, Photographer or General Creative who wants to use their creativity for something *BIG* in life…

You’re going to need LOTS of energy!

Especially if you’re working a 9-5 job AND trying to create your creative business on the side all while trying to have a social life and not chain yourself to your desk 24 hours a day.

This Spark Your Creative Life & Biz blog series challenge will look at small, but powerful actions you can do each day that will bring a fresh spark back into your creative life and business.

So that you can create amazing things!

On this first day of the series, I wanted to start small (but this is SO important).

Something we all struggle with… EXHAUSTION!

How exhausted are you? Are you reading this post while you down your third espresso, after going to sleep at 3am last night because you couldn’t stop scrolling TikTok?

Did you wake up, roll out of bed, begrudgingly get ready for work and then drive to a job you don’t love, that doesn’t make you excited, you have that dreaded feeling of just *existing*, all while just wishing you had the energy to change it all?

It’s no wonder we’re all so exhausted and find it hard to move forward in life.

But when we feel incredibly busy, the last thing that seems helpful is more sleep or rest.

Sometimes it even feels like a waste of time…

Or we might realize how helpful it is but decide we don’t have enough time. OR maybe you’re experiencing sleep procrastination (this is where I struggle).

But we need sleep. If we’re low energy – we NEED sleep!

If you want to start moving out of fatigue, burnout and the daily fog, it’s time to start paying attention to how much sleep and rest you get.

Sleep and good rest help ease anxiety and stress, improves mood, increases creativity and energy levels.

If you have trouble falling asleep, consider relaxation techniques, like yoga, meditation, reading, or listening to music. Create a nightly ritual that you love.

You can also check out the benefits of magnesium here, in aiding in good quality sleep.

This is my favorite magnesium on Amazon. As with any supplement, check with your doctor to see if it’s right for you.

CHALLENGE DAY 1

  • Try to get at least 8 hours of sleep tonight.
  • When you wake up tomorrow morning, notice if you feel differently than you usually do. Was it helpful?
  • Decide what a typical sleep schedule could be for you, that you aim for each night.

What to Expect for the Rest of the Challenge

We are about to spend the next 15 days looking at creating a calm, balanced, feel good foundation so we can start fully living and creating again.

I started this challenge because many of my creative friends on TikTok have been experiencing the same things in the last few years.

  • You feel like you’re meant for more. For a higher purpose. You were given this creative gift and want to use it for more than a boring 9-5 job.
  • The last few years have been hard. You’ve just been surviving but you’re finally coming out of that fog and are wanting to start living in your purpose and passion again.
  • You want to live in your purpose but you’re not sure where to start.
  • You’re experiencing a lack of energy, motivation and drive.

To come out of the fog and to start living again takes some small tweaks to your individual days, being intentional with your actions, adding in fun and things you love again and being sure to take care of yourself.

Once you build this foundation of wellness, working on your creative business or creative endeavors becomes so much easier.

What prompted me to start this challenge and community?

In 2018 I went through an integrative wellness & life coach program and was certified as a life coach. I was ready to start coaching! My husband Kristian and I got engaged in April 2019 and then got married in November 2019.

After a few months of marital happiness and feeling like we were on top of the world, we were knocked down by the pandemic.

We were not prepared to go through the challenges of a pandemic, together, as a new married couple.

We went into survival mode, which was necessary, but as a result – lost our community and the only few friends we had in the new town we are living in.

We fell into depression and bad habits. I felt unqualified to coach anyone because I myself was struggling in this new reality.

As the months went on, though, we were able to eventually adjust. We were able to finally see what’s important again and what we felt called to do in our lives, as Creatives.

To start things off, I had always wanted to start making TikTok videos to create a community of Creatives and in May of 2022 faced my giant fear and started posting videos – shaking voice and all.

But despite the raging fear, it was incredibly worth it.

The community we’ve created over there has been so fun and life giving – and it’s only just the beginning!

I couldn’t have started that journey or faced my fear, however, if I had still been enveloped in my brain fog or low mood. I realized that I wanted to take back control of my life, move out of freeze mode and start living again. So I worked on my health, wellness and vitality.

This foundation of wellness and taking care of ourselves as Creative Entrepreneurs is so important that I wanted to share with you what I learned along the way. I hope it helps you in moving towards a life you absolutely LOVE!

Over the course of the next 15 days, you will start to feel rejuvenated and more in control of your environment and daily life. I can’t wait to get started in sharing this information and helping you see the big results in your life.

It’s time to start living again!

I’d love to hear in the comments what you’re looking forward to the most in this challenge.
